as an administrator, adjunct professor, and consultant
in the fields of communication and medical education.
Jan joined Inspire Careers in 2006, offering

Highlights
As
an adjunct professor at the University at Buffalo (SUNY),
Jan has designed curriculum and taught many courses ranging
from Business & Professional Communication, to
Persuasion, Ethics, Public Speaking, Promotional
Writing, and Interpersonal Communication. She
has also presented numerous workshops and seminars on Management
Skills, Team Building, Interviewing Skills, Resume and CV
Writing, Intercultural Communication, Cultural Influences
in Health Care, Doctor-Patient Communication, and other topics.
Jan
received the Milton Plesur Excellence in Teaching Award and
the Carl Naish Award for her outstanding teaching and mentoring
abilities. She has served as a guest lecturer and presenter
for local colleges, professional groups, and not-for-profit
organizations, and has authored and presented papers and publications
in the medical and communication fields.
She
served as deputy director for the Internal Medicine Residency
Program at the University at Buffalo (SUNY) School of Medicine
from 1996 – 2004. In this administrative role, Jan oversaw
the education curriculum, supervised recruitment and credentialing,
and advised medical residents and students.
Jan
holds a Ph.D. and an M.A. in Communication from the University
at Buffalo (SUNY), and a B.S. in Liberal Studies, magna
cum laude, from Medialle College. Active in community
service, she is currently serving as a vice president on the
Board of Directors of the YWCA of the Tonawandas.
