Entrepreneurship in WNY - Resources Available
Jack McGowan, Consultant
Insyte Consulting
Each year research institutions, small businesses, and individuals in Western New York develop a significant amount of new inventions and technologies that have the potential to become new products and businesses. The majority of these inventions are never commercialized, in large part because of the lack of people with the necessary motivation, business skills, and experience to launch a successful venture. This presentation will highlight the main sources of new technologies in our region, how to contact them, and the organizations and resources that are available to help entrepreneurs who would like to build a new business.
Jack McGowan has over 25 years of experience working with early-stage technology and small to medium-sized manufacturing companies. He provides consulting in the areas of business planning, strategic planning, finance, ISO Quality Systems, and marketing. Jack is a certified Professional Business Advisor through MEP University, a certified trainer in Lean enterprise initiatives, and a certified Eureka! Winning Ways Growth Coach. He has also received certification as an ISO 9001:2000 Provisional Lead Auditor. Jack is a director of the WNY Venture Association, a not-for-profit organization that provides a forum for the exchange of opportunities between entrepreneurs and potential investors.

Nicole Fiorella, Vice President and International Recruitment Specialist
Briand Fiorella Search, Inc.,
Nicole will share with us her secrets to “ace” any job interview. She will also discuss how to express your value proposition in a concise, impactful, and memorable “two-minute commercial.”
Briand Fiorella Search, Inc. is an international executive search firm specializing in the pharmaceutical, biotech and medical industries in the areas of sales, sales management, sales training, medical science liaisons, managed care and marketing.
